Typhoon Ondoy and Floods
Just a quick post to let you all know that we are all fine and the flood miraculously (in my opinion) passed Baseco despite being surrounded by water (???!!!) . I think God was in it. I watched the flood rise and rise in central Manila from a 9th floor till it was up to people’s waist…….it was a bit scary especially when the power went down. The rain was horizontal and jeepneys were submerged up to their doors. As for Pedicabs they were covered to well over the seats and windows. Nothing but big semis and trucks passed even then they were struggling. The images on the TV are horrid but true.
How quickly can things change, this storm dropped more rain in one day than Hurricane Katrina…..devastating.
Anyway we are all well, we did flood in the house, and James , Mark and the kids mopped up amidst worms and horrid stench, YAHHHH for disinfectant and my personal fav BLEACH …….
So we are cool, just damp and mouldy, better than flooded like the poor other philo people
