Adjustments
We have been here one week so far, now I am beginning to see the trees from the wood,
I am recognizing faces and smelling familiar smells (not all bad!!
)
Now Christine does not have to tell me twice before I get it!! I am getting it better and quicker!
The kids are settling, I am getting focus.
There have been challenges……….have I worried, to be honest YES but then I see that we are actually ok and doing ok I relax and enjoy myself again.
Here are some adjustments probably in order of challenge that they place on our bodies and our ability as a large family!
HEAT and WEATHER

I have NEVER been this hot……………….I am not used to sweating ALL of the time………..I mean DRIPPING…….DRIPPING
I never imagined that I could ever endure a cold shower, but now ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh BLISS, that shower is from God!! (Mark did say that the shower was the hardest thing to give up for us, good thing he loves us!!)
On the first day I got sunburnt, very quickly and harshly…..I have never been much good in the heat so it was NOT a good thing, I had a hat etc on BUT!!!! I had a headache and vomiting, on the second day, remembering that Sarah vomited on the plane (gastro??? Sunstroke?? Exhaustion from packing and no sleep?????) Dunno but it struck me!
We have all suffered a from heatstroke/heat in some way, some just heat rash, prickly heat, others a spew or two but we are all LOVING that shower. When hot get wet, it lowers the general body temp and you can seem to cope better. Lovely. Even a breeze on the balcony can bring comfort. I feel more comfortable as the days past, learning my limits, the little ones limits and working within them without being silly………Duhhhhh seems obvious, but I am taking baby steps, in the heat!
LANGUAGE and PEOPLE

I am just living rather than communicating, I am smiling lots and touching, my progression into the language is slow. James is powering the kids are progressing I am just doing basics and trusting that the rest will come. I cannot stress as I will really freak. Luckily most chn learn English and want to try it out, so they like me. I will learn but at a slower pace.
SHOPPING
I Love the markets, Mark and Chris showed us once and I was ready…………it is where the rubber meets the road…people are real I love them……old young whatever! I am cautious but expansive trying new food for the kids and experiencing the culture, food and tastes. It is fun and a little challenging, the grime is harder to deal with in this area………..open stalls, fish, meat hanging, flies dogs and cats ick………………but reality.
More on culture later
Luv me
