It just makes me wonder………….

This week I was outraged……no dissapointed…..oh I do not know what I was ……
James came from a work appointment (nice company, good people to work for etc….just ordinary nice people)
BUT
He told them that we were going to Manila, and actually showed them photos of Baseco online….they of course were amazed and a bit freaked….who isn’t???? That we are used to.
BUT
He was talking to a receptionist, a nice chicky babe (my words not his…hee hee) about 20 odd
she looked at him in literal HORROR and said
“Why on earth would ANYONE even want to go there???”
It wasn’t even the fact we were taking 6 kids to the slums, or we were going or even asking WHY?
She was actually saying why should anyone GO there?
Why do normal comfortable people want to go there?
This freaked me out
I actually cried at the tea table in front of everyone……
I was indignant, shamed for my race…..really I was horrified at this attitude
This poor ignorant child/woman actually did not know (or want to know)
- That there are people out there who have no basics

- That there are children dying when we live so comfortably
- That the world is a bigger place than her manicured nails and new hairdos
- She was deliberately (maybe) not seeing the need

- She was not even impacted by the visuals
- She did not even see that she could make a BIT of difference
This kid probably will grow up into an adjusted and nice lady, BUT
her lack of world view and perception of reality truelly bothered and disturbed me.
She did not see and appeared not to WANT to see……our society and our preoccuption with self and selfish desires had blinded her to reality and stripped her of an ability to see with eyes that can see!

It brought an emotional and passionate speech from me (self righteuos probably)
BUT
I was genuinely disturbed
What kind of world are we creating for our young adults?
I ask even as Christians are we breeding a generation of selfish and blind adults?
Is there no accountablility?
Is there no responsibility?

It just makes me wonder where we are going as a society
Other than God do we really have a hope?
Dunno just makes me wonder…..

i’m one with my grateful nation and people in welcoming and thanking you and your family for your full hearts, gracious spirits, and Christ-like attributes. there are a lot of poor and needy everywhere and our country should feel blessed that you decided to share what you are and who you are to a people in much want and need of examples from Christ’s true disciples such as yourselves.
truth shall prevail, justice will be served, and Christ’s grace will be sufficient…
thank you for being my people’s keeper!
